The Killers' Brandon Flowers is set to release his debut solo album Flamingo in the UK on Monday, September 6th, and in the US on September 14th. The album has already been preceded by Flowers’ first self-penned solo single "Crossfire" which is currently #6 on the US Alternative Songs' Chart and reached #8 in its first week on the UK Singles Chart, where it features on both the A playlist for BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 2.

On their website, Spin magazine showcases exclusive 45-second preview clips of all 10 album tracks (click here), together with an interview with Brandon Flowers published earlier last month.

The theme of Flamingo is inspired by Flowers’ hometown, Las Vegas, known as "Sin City". He named the album after Flamingo Road, in the heart of Vegas, where he had his first job and met his wife, Tana. Sam’s Town, the casino which inspired the title of The Killers’ 2006 album release, is also situated on Flamingo Road.

The songs on Flowers’ debut solo album were originally penned for his band, The Killers, “on a cheap Yamaha keyboard on the bus” during their Day and Age tour. Within the album there are other references to Flowers’ experiences in Las Vegas. He says the opening track, “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas”, is “an anthem to the iconic sign” that welcomes visitors to the city.
