Gorillaz Downloads Free iPad Album In Xmas StockingsImagine waking up on Christmas morning with a brand new Gorillaz album in your stocking... "I'm going to try and put it out before Christmas," Damon Albarn promised in November, talking about the Gorillaz album he recorded in hotel rooms on his iPad while touring America. True to his word, together with the band's co-creator and animator, Jamie Hewlett, Albarn has now disclosed that the album will be available as a "free" download for fans on Christmas Day.

"I hope I'll be making the first record on an iPad," Albarn said in November.

On the band's recent US tour, Albarn spent his spare time in his hotel room recording a new album on his iPad. The album will be released on the band's website on Christmas Day.

"At the moment we've got an advent calendar on our website and there is a daily door that opens to reveal a gift," Hewlett explained yesterday to Perth Now, during the band's tour of Western Australia.

"On Christmas Eve a video for one of the new songs from the iPad album will be released," he continued. "Then, on Christmas Day fans get the whole album downloaded to their computer for free* as a gift."

"I wanted to make sure that it came out at the end of the tour because I don't want anyone to think I'd tampered with it," Albarn added.

"I literally made it on the road in America over a month. I didn't write it before, I didn't prepare it. I just did it day by day as a kind of diary of my experience in America. If I left it until the New Year to release it then the cynics out there would say 'Oh well, it's been tampered with', but if I put it out now they'd know that I haven't done anything because I've been on tour ever since."

Whether you've been naughty or good during 2010, this record-breaking, second Gorillaz album release in the year promises to be a stocking filler not to be missed.

(Reuters) - The lead singer of British pop band Ou Est Le Swimming Pool jumped to his death after playing at a music festival in Belgium, British authorities have confirmed.

Charles Haddon, 22, leapt from a telecommunications mast behind the main stage at the Pukkelpop festival and fell to a parking area below on Friday. Belgian police are treating the death as suicide.

"We can confirm the death of a British national on August 20 in Hasselt, Belgium," a British Foreign Office spokeswoman said.

The band had performed at the three-day festival in Hasselt shortly before Haddon climbed up the mast. The band played the Glastonbury and Bestival festivals last year and were due to start a British tour in October.

They are most known for their track ‘Dance the Way I Feel’ and the Armand van Helden remix included on several mixes over the summer of 2009. Charles Haddon R.I.P.
