After ten years and four albums, Coldplay has confirmed it is finally on the verge of releasing its first "concept" album. Whereas Viva La Vida explored the grander sweeping themes of love and war, frontman Chris Martin said the new album will be more intimate by comparison.

"It's from the point of view of two people who are a bit lost," Martin said. "Two like-minded outsiders who meet in a very difficult environment and therefore have a journey together."

Chris Martin and gutarist Jonny Buckland spoke to BBC News on Sunday.

"It's a concept album but it's supposed to be very personal within a big framework," Martin added. "Does that make sense?"

The record which is still untitled is being produced by Brian Eno and Marcus Dravs, who made the band's last album Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends.
